French Inspired Birthday Card

Hello Everybody!

There have been a lot of birthdays lately!  Here is a card I just finished for a young friend of ours who loves the Eiffel Tower.

The background is a script background stamp from Stampin Up.  I used clear embossing powder and then used distress oxides over the embossing.  The hot air balloon and Eiffel Tower are Tim Holtz's stamps.  For the balloon I stamped it using distress oxide wilted violet.  I love this color.  Then I heat set it.  After that I put some ink on my mat and a squirt of water and water colored the inside of the balloon.  The background and stamps were stamped on a light beige (vanilla) cardstock instead of white to give it a more vintage look.

The rest of the pretty things are Tim Holtz.  The Enjoy card is from his Flashcards set.  And the postcard and the rest of those fun things are from his little ephemera pack snippets.

Here is the card at a different angle.

I would like to submit this card into the following challenges:

Seize the Birthday: anything goes Topping: script or type--the background

Retro Rubber Challenge: Travel On-use mode of transportation.  The hot air balloon is my mode of tranportaion.  The background script stamp from Stampin Up is from 2000.  Tim Holtz's Eiffel Tower and hot air balloon have been around for a few years.  I maybe got it in 2013 or 2014.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...Enjoy!

What a fun way to travel... short distances, LOL. The background is wonderful, vintag-y, and full of colors and texture. Perfect backdrop! This same layout and detail would make a fantastic keepsake box!! Thanks so much for sharing it with Retro Rubber this challenge. Hope to see you back with us again next challenge!
