Penguins Layout

Hello Everybody!

There is a great sketch at The Memory Nest that caught my eye-and I knew I had to participate.

Here is my layout:

Here is the sketch for Make It Monday No. 90:

Instead of using the vines for the title-I used a penguin that I cut from the silhouette.  The little penguins are from the Silhouette also.  I used Wendy Vecchi's transparent paste and a companions workshop stencil for the background.  I used scrap papers behind my picture (yay!!).  And various buttons and things.  My husband gave me the "love this" wooden embellishment.

Here are some close ups:

Here is the journaling.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...just chill :)

Shaker Butterfly Card

Hello Everybody!

I love love love shaker cards!  And I love that Queen and Company has totally made shaker cards their thing.  When I was at the Scrapbook Expo, I spent a lot of time in the Q&C booth.  If you haven't been to their booth-first it's color coded.  So I bought these little flower that are on this card.

But this card is a shaker using their die cut (that I had to buy!  Butterfly 😍😍😍)  I also had an Art Anthology class-and they have cool paints and sprays.  So I bought Wisteria and Pixie.  I painted the purple (Wisteria) on the outside of this card and Pixie (the light blue) on the inside.  There are sequins and all sorts of goods in the shaker part.  AKA my favorite part.  I love putting all of the little bits into the shaker. :)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...Shake it up! ;)

Card of Dad

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I made a card for my Dad.  He plays guitar so I thought it was fitting :)

The background is made using distress oxides and Ken Olivers Yellow Gold.  While I spritzed the paper with water I put a few drops of the gold liquid to give the paper a little shimmer.  I also used watercolor paper so it would take the water better.  After the paper was dry I used a music embossing folder.

The die cut is a file from the Silhouette store.  I made a few guitars to get the different colors layered.

I am submitting this card to the Cards in Envy Challenge: You're the Man Challenge.

Until next time my friends, enjoy the music! :)
