Playing Dressup

Hello Everybody!

I barely made this post in time for the challenge at Stick It Down.  But I think I made it!  ;)

I used feathers, papers, and some stickers from Bella BLVD.  The disguise stickers are from Jolee's.  Other papers are Theresa Collins, Recollections, and Wasau Papers.

I have had these feathers for a little while, and I always wanted to use them.  I have to give Julie Tucker-Wolek major props because she makes using them look so easy!  Thank you!  I finally found a place for my feathers :)

Here are a few close-ups:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...where's my hat? ;)

Birthday Wagon

Hello Everybody!

I made this card for a sweet little birthday guy today.  He turns 5.

I used my Cricut and the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge for everything here.  The wagon, the pirate hat and sword (which I used tarnished brass distress paint to paint the sword part which I cut on white cardstock), and the video game controller.  Ideally, it was supposed to be a Wii controller but my son didn't recognize it like that.  Hopefully, the little guy's mom did! ;)

I am linking this up to the Birthday Challenge at Cut It Up: #43.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-yay for birthday! :)

No Refunds, No Exchanges

Hello Everybody!

I made this tag for the challenge at DragonsDream Tag It On#165-Letter B and use a flower.

I used the words brothers.  I used the 3 guys from a Tim Holtz stamp set and embossed them with Ranger's Liquid Platinum powder.  The stamp at the bottom says no refunds no exchanges.  I don't have a brother but my husband does.  At I am pretty sure at one point or another they tried to exchanged the other for something (like maybe a puppy). ;)  I have a sister-and thought I wouldn't exchange her now...there was a time ;)

I covered the tag with book paper and used the T.H. clock stencil with faded jeans distress ink.  I put a layer of gesso over it to kind of tame the brightness.  I don't know if it is because of brothers being boys or the letter B in general but I used blue as the main color on the tag.  The flower is from book paper and the tattered florals die cut.  And I used salty ocean, peacock feathers, and faded jeans for each flower.  I did use a little brown around the edges of the tag.

I made a little knot with this old binding ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...love your siblings-your parents made them just for you ;)

Side Step Card-CASED

Hello Everybody!

I wanted to show you the card I made today for Technique Time Tuesday!  It's a side step card that I CASED from the entries so far.

The card I CASED is from Heather G:

Isn't it just beautiful with those blossoms!  I like the way she did the sentiments and her color scheme.  And she used Doodle Pantry stamps.  I was so inspired that I pulled out my Doodle Pantry stamps (they used to be Clearly Dollar Stamps).

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next my friends...what's inspiring you? :)

Steampunk Picture Frame

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn over at Unique Laser Designs to do a project.  I had so much fun creating this picture frame.

The wings and the gears are all from Unique Laser Designs!  The frame is a basic wooden frame from the craft store.

Here are a few highlights from my frame.  To see the complete tutorial you will have to check out my post at Unique Laser Designs! :)

I painted the frame with gesso and then coated it with Tim Holtz's Distress Crackle Paint.

Here are all of the gears in the natural form.  I used from 2 packs-both A and B.

I used Ultra High Embossing Powder from Wow! to cover the gears.  I used copper, gold and silver.

I used Ranger's Platinum embossing powder for the wings.  It's finer than the Wow!

Here is a close up of the wing with the US light bulb in the middle.  The bulb is from Prima.

Here is a close up of the cracklely goodness!

Also, I want to link this frame up to a couple of challenges:

As always-thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends--love that Steampunk! :)

Easter Egg Card

Hello Everybody!

It's my turn over at Unique Laser Designs, and I have created this CAS card.

Here is a close-up of the eggs.  I used TH Distress Paint Spun Sugar and Peeled Paint on the wooden eggs.  Then I applied Crystal Stickles over them.  When you buy the eggs there are 6 different designs in a pack-so there will be more egg projects! :)

Other Supplies: Stencil-Dylusions/Ranger, light modeling paste, gelatos-spearmint and lime, Hampton Art Stamp

Mixed Media Bunny

Hello Everybody!

I am working on my Easter cards-and I am loving the prompts that the challenges are offering.  These prompts are helping my mojo! :)

So here is my mixed media bunny card.  Here are the challenges that I am submitting it to:

Digi Haven: Easter Challenge with a Twist-Use the Color Brown.  I used kraft paper for the background and walnut distress ink around the bunny square.

Moxie Fab World: Styling with Stencils Challenge in the Moxie Fab World:  I used a Heidi Swapp stencil and mustard seed distress paint for the yellow chevrons on the right side of the bunny.

Make My Monday:  Easter

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Happy Easter

Catch the Bug Challenge Blog: Anything Goes

Here are some details on my card:
I used a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous for the pink design.  I used Stampendous pink embossing powder.
The bunny is from Bugaboo Stamps.  I used copics to color him and distressed the square.  I also used walnut ink distress ink around the edges.  The flower strip is from Wasau Paper and a Martha Stewart punch.  The chevrons are from mustard seed distress paint and a Heidi Swapp chevrons stencil.  Then some random sequins.  Oh-also, I used a cream white cat eye around the edges of the kraft paper to soften them.

Here is a little big of a close-up.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends..have a good night! :)

Cute Lil' Bunny

Hello Everybody!

I finished an Easter card this evening.  I used a Bugaboo waving bunny on it.  I think he is super cute!

I colored him with Copics.  I used the swiss dots embossing folder for the purple cardstock.  The flowers are from a trim I have.  And the background paper is a scrap (Yay!).  I used a little pink ink around the bunny square too.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...keep craftin'! :)

Tag of Zeal

Hello Everybody!

I am back real quick tonight to post this tag that I have made for the challenge at DragonsDream Tag It On: Challenge #163 Letter Z and a face.

For the base of the tag I glued a dictionary page to it.  A page from the letter Z!  I used modge podge and it worked well-no bubbles or anything.  Once dried I used a brayer to apply Distress Paints-ripe persimmon, spiced marmalade, and mustard seed.  Then I used white (picket fence) and brayered it over so it was the last color applied.

I bought this face stamp a few months ago, and this is the first time I used it.  Yay!  It's from Hampton Art.  The light bulb is from Prima.  Zeal is spelled out using a Tim Holtz Stencil.  I used some bright orange ric rac from my stash, also.

Here is a close-up.  They look enthusiastic, right?  ;)  Maybe they got a zealous idea!  Anyways-this was a super fun challenge.  I enjoyed making this tag and breaking in this face stamp.  I look forward to the next challenge :)

Until next time my friends...I'm gonna get ready for some zzzzz's.  :)

Spring Card

Hello Everybody!

Spring is in the air-and maybe on your car and sidewalks.  ;)  But there isn't any pollen on this card-just a beautiful tree with flowers!

Today it is my turn to post a project over at Unique Laser Designs.  This tree started off bare.  So I added some flower soft to create the look of flower buds on tree.

And here is my card.  I used paper from Echo Park, Pink Paisley, and white card stock.  I also used some light modeling paste and a stencil from Dylusions for the left side and bottom corner.  The ribbon was in my stash.  I have had it so long that they used to be called fibers and were all the rage.  (LOL!)  :)

This is flower soft.  It is sort of like pretty colored pencil eraser shavings.  It comes in different colors and blends.  This one is Soft Pea.

Here is a side view of my card.  Love this tree! :)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...Happy Spring!

It doesn't have to be a Snowman

Hello Everybody!

**This layout won at Stick it Down: April 1st Challenge.  Thank you! :)

I love that song!  And I have a little boy that has no interest in watching the movie over and over or singing the soundtrack so I still enjoy Frozen.  ;)

We did watch the movie back in December more because of me.  LOL!  And I loved it!  But we went to a small theatre.  Later we had to go get gift cards from the movie theatre (one of the big ones) and they had Olaf.  So we stopped for a picture.  :)

At Stick It Down the challenge is to use this one page sketch.  I love this sketch!

Here's a close up of my journaling.

Here is a close up of the main part of the page.  I used stamps, washi tap, Scrabble sticker letters and the girls' paperie letters.  The spots are made with light modeling paste and antique linen distress ink and the bubble wrap stencil from Tim Holtz.  There are other little things I used here and there like some Prima brads, Queen and Company bling and a die cut clock from 7 Gypsies.  The background paper is from Glitz.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...let it go  ;)

Happy Birthday Card

Hello Everybody!

I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday-FUN!  I bought a new set of banners and matching stamps from Sizzix.  And it's always fun to get to use them right away!

So here is my card:

At the House of Cards it is Anything Style Goes as long as you use the photo inspiration.  So here is the photo:

That's a nice breakfast nook!  So I was inspired by that accent wall that I interpreted to be mint green.  And on that same wall is a display of spoons.  That is why I incorporated the silver banners (my cool new sizzix banners and stamps).  And I used yellow twine because the pillows and seat cushions have yellow in them.

I dabbed TH Distress Paint Picket Fence around the edges of the card to soften it.  The background paper is Echo Park.  I pop dotted my sentiment and my wooden treble clef is the same size as the pop dots. :)

I am also entering this card in the challenge at Unique Laser Designs-Use Unique Laser Designs products.  I used the treble clef and painted it white.

Also, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Happy Birthday.  They are 5 years old!  Happy Birthday! :)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have a great weekend! :)

Mixed Media Tag

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to be showing you my first project using the best wood embellishments!  The company is called Unique Laser Designs.  Let me show you!

I used one of the wooden tags.  These are so awesome!  I added gesso to it and then heat embossed it.  The tag didn't warp or do anything weird!  (score!) ;)  Then I covered the clarinet players and painted the rest of the tag.

Good ol' Tim Holtz Distress paint.  I used Chipped Sapphire for most of it and then I dabbed Salty Ocean and Picket Fence on it.

Here is a close up of the black embossing.  I used Tim's black soot distress ink to stamp the image and then Stampendous black embossing powder.

Do you see that awesome swirl?  That is another Unique Laser Design wood piece.  You can get a closer look here.

These next two pictures show close-ups of the small wooden musical notes that I used.  Now this is funny.  I used some ooooold silver distress crackle paint on the musical notes so they would contrast.  Once the notes dried they were supposed to crackle.  They didn't-which is ok.  They have the texture of the paint.  I guess I'm lucky the bottle wasn't totally dried up even though the paint is really thick! ;)

Here is a side view of the tag.  You can see there is a little thickness there.  The stars were applied with light modeling paste and a TH stencil.  I used TH rub-ons for the center bottom.  And TH word band.  Have you ever know clarinet players to not be authentic?  (hehe)

And because of the strength of the wood, I had to add a "heavy" embellishment.  This is a corked vial from TH.  In chemistry 102 he showed us how to crackle glass.  So I cannot say how to do this.  And then I added those little pink roses.  I used glossy accents on the vase.  And so far so good.  :)

Thank you so much for stopping by!  There is a challenge going on for everybody (those who do and do not have ULD products) on the blog.  Check it out here!

Speaking of challenges-I am entering this tag into the following challenges:

Until next time my friends....let's go create! :)

Tag Time!

Hello Everybody!

Today starts a new challenge at Scrap It Girl-Tags and Bags!  I chose to do a tag.  But you can do a bag or and tag and bag!  :)

Here is my tag in it's little pocket.  Lot's of Tim Holtz stuff going on here ;)  But scroll down so you can see the rest of the tag!

Super cool, right?  (toot too!)  I do love how this turned out.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Paints for the background and dusty concorde distress ink around the edges.  Everything is Tim's except the Recollections washi tape and that cool note.

The note is from Unique Laser Designs.  I gessoed it and then used seedless reserves and pewter Tim DP to paint it.

The happy birthday is white embossing powder.  The ribbon is crinkle ribbon using mostly dusty concord distress stain.

I made the pocket on my Cricut using the Going Places cartridge.  I glued Tim Holtz's tissue paper to the front using modge podge.  Then with distress inks (scattered straw, picked raspberries, and salty ocean) I inked the front.  The stamps is Tim's too.  I stamped it on the tissue paper before the ink.  Then I restamped it on white cardstock and cut out the cupcake.  I colored the cupcake with Copics and pop dotted it.

Here is the prize for this months's Tags and Bags Challenge.  Thanks Amanda for these awesome goodies!

I hope you will come and join us!

I am submitting this birthday tag into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends--it's cupcake time! ;)

Very Exciting News!

Hello Everybody!

I have some exciting news!  I am on the Design Team for a new company called Unique Laser Designs!

Unique Laser Designs is based in California.  They produce high quality wood designs.  Here are a few but go check out their website.  They have so many cool designs!

You can find them on Facebook also!

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...I've gotta go create! :)

Side Step Card

Hello Everybody!

This month I am hosting the challenge at Technique Time Tuesday!  I chose to do a side step card.  Go by and check out the beautiful cards the DT made for this challenge. Mynnette also made a great video demonstrating this technique.  So dust of your score pal and play along!

Oh and before I forget--the prize is a $25 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp.  :)

I used a 4 blade pair of scissors for some of the grass.  The lighter green is cut from my cricut using the Critters 2 cartridge.  (I love this cartridge!)  Also, there are some hiding ears made from this cartridge, too.

The bunny, basket, and eggs are stickers probably from Michael's a few years ago-LOL.

Here is a close up.

This is from a piece of pattern paper by Rusty Pickle.  They aren't around anymore so I have had this paper for a little while ;)

The hardest part is deciding what you are going to put on your card! :)

I can't wait to see what you create!  Until next time my friends--it's side step time!
