Hello Friend Card

Hello Everybody!

I made a card using Graphic 45's Secret Garden.  I used the sketch over at Inkspirational to get my creative juices flowing.  There is still time to play at Inkspirational-Challenge #17 Sketch.

Here's my card:

Here is the sketch:

I bought the 6X6 pad and then a sheet of Graphic 45 with 6 squares on each side.  I fussy cut the cage, flowers and bird out of one of the squares.  The sentiment is a stamp from Tim Holtz.  And I embossed the yellow paper with a Sizzix lace folder.

Until next time my friends...who will you send a hello card to? :)

Happy Birthday Card

Hello Everybody!

I just recently bought the clock die from Tim Holtz.  It was perfect for the circle in this week's sketch for Let's Scrap.  And since Anything Goes! at Simon Says Stamp Challenge-I am going to link up there too!

Here's my card:

Here is this week's sketch:

I cut the clock out of a light brown cardstock and used walnut stain (distress stain) and some bronze and silver Tim Holtz distress paint to color it.  The shape that the sentiment is made from is also from Tim Holtz.  used walnut distress ink on the edges of the background and the sentiment shape.  Those papers are from Prima.

I embossed and distressed the pink square.  I roughed up the edges and used my favorite-walnut stain distess ink!  :)  The flower pearls are Making Memories and the swirls are from Want2Scrap.

I got the pearls at the Scarpbook Expo-which is next weekend for me!  Yay!  I will be doing updates on Facebook so make sure you are a friend of my page!

Thanks for stopping by friends!  Until next time...stay crafty! :)

Tim's April Tag

Hello Everybody!

I am so happy that I was able to make this tag.  My new local scrapbook store got in the regular and metallic Distress Inks-and I am so in heaven!  They are so fun!

I am submitting my tag to the Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014 and to the Anything Goes! Challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge.  You can get all of Tim's stuff there and they are offering a generous $50 gift voucher to the winner of their challenge.  :)

So here is my tag using the paints:

There were a few things that I had to substitute.  I didn't have the dragon fly stamp on the clear material that Tim had so I used some other Tim Holtz stamps and a Fiskars dragonfly.  I stamped on a transparency to give this little guy wings.  I was at my local store making this during a crop, and I had forgotten my mini attacher so I just used glossy accents to adhere the wings.  The clock and arrow (hehe my mom-in law cracked up when she heard me say this.  She said that's a clock hand.  I called it an arrow-that's great) are done using mossy green, salty ocean, and broken china distress paint.  I LOVE this affect!  And it gets better with the number 4!

I used the little hooks to adhere my words of wisdom.  Another substitution I made was that I didn't have the dictionary tissue paper so I used the Tim Holtz stamp definition of Curiosity and distressed the paper it was on.  The 4 is from his new numbers collection that is normally black plastic.  But a few layers of paint and then the metallic paint and a little heat (and I mean just a little!) and this great patina 4 is made.  So awesome!!

I am still loving that 4.  It's like an old treasure!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I appreciate all of your sweet comments too!  Until next time my friends...it's Friday!! :)

New Home Card

Hello Everybody!

This month at Sparkle N Sprinkle the challenge-SNSSC18-is to use a digital stamp.  This cute little mushroom house is from Sparkle N Sprinkle and the artist is Becky Muir.  I printed it twice so I could make some extra flowers.  One of the flowers I used a pop dot to make it dimensional.

I colored it with Copics and added some Martha Stewart twine.  New Home are words from the Tim Holtz chit chat collection.

Here is a picture of the dimensional flowers.

The challenge goes until the end of the month and you can play with whatever images you have!  Until next time my friends...have a good night!

Car Show Layout

Hello Everybody!

So I have been working on a 2 page layout for the last couple of days.  I used the sketch at Let's Scrap and got a few new things from Hobby Lobby and had a lot of fun!  :)

Here is my layout.  I added a couple of pictures because all of these were together and were from the same event.  My cousin and his wife and my sister and me all came to our "hometown" and went to my Uncle's Car Show.  Good times for sure! :)

I am also submitting this project to the challenge at Shopping Our Stash: Challenge #97 Text or Letters.  I used sheets from a 1997 Almanac (that talk about cars for the year 1996-10 years before this event) and the ticket on the bottom right corner has print on it.

Here is the sketch from Let's Scrap.

I got a new embossing folder from Tim Holtz.  I used some rusty hinge distress ink and gold dabber paint.

This is a ticket from 7 Gypsies.  It also makes a great journaling square.  The 2006 are stickers from Tim Holtz (love them!).  I also use them to spell out baby next to my cousin's wife.  How exciting! :)

Here is a close up of one of the pages that show text-and Car sales by type :)

I did a closeup of the gear (tim holtz) because I used silver Stampin' Up brad but colored them with Tim Holtz Distress Paints.  I was trying to patina them.  I think they turned out great! :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...good night! :)

Happy Birthday Annette!

Hello Everybody!

My bloggy friend Annette at My Clever Creations is celebrating her birthday today!  Happy Birthday!  Annette does this cool thing where she does a birthday card challenge for her birthday-so I have made a card for her.

I used Graphic 45 papers and a thick lace that was in my ribbon box.  I am also submitting this card to the challenge at Inkspirational: CASE challenge.

Annette, I hope you have a wonderful birthday!  Until next time my friends...eat lots of cake and ice cream! :)

You're 4!

Hello Everybody!

I got my gelli plate out tonight and had a wonderful time making backgrounds!  For this card I used a blue paint and a texture thing from Martha Stewart.  We were at Home Depot last night in the paint section and Martha Stewart had a paint combing set for $6!  There were 3 different sized combs and one of the combs had two sides so that's like 4!  I used the biggest one on this monoprint.

Then for the square I used bubble wrap and edged scissors to cut out the square.  I put Tim Holtz Silver distress paint around the edges.  The circle is from a different monoprint.  The tissue tapes and letters are also Tim Holtz.

I am entering the following challenges:  Unscripted Sketches #206 4th Blogiversary

And Simon Says Stamp and Show: Make your own background.  They always give away a $50 voucher to Simon Says Stamp- so awesome! :)

Thank you for stopping by!  I am giving this card to a little guy that turns 4 tomorrow!  He likes art so I hope he likes this card!

Until next time my friends-Let's have some cake and ice cream! There are celebrations everywhere! :)

Sky's the Limit

Hello Everybody!

Yes you can!  Whatever it is you want to do!  That is what my card is about anyways! :)

In the next wee hours the challenge for this week's Inkspirational Challenge #15 will be ending but if you act now you too can play!

Here is this week's photo challenge:

So pretty and totally spring.  I was inspired by the colors.

I have been on a hot air balloon kick here of late.  And tonight is no exceptional-however instead of a grungy steampunk hot air balloon, I went with The Alley Ways hot air balloon (love is in the air set) and a saying from their Work it out set.

I embossed the blue Bazzill cardstock.  I found the cloud (from Cricut) in my die cut box (YAY!) and divided it.  I stamped the balloon but the pink Copic marker I have wasn't pink enough.  So I restamped the balloon on a scratch piece that had worn lipstick Distress Stain on it from an earlier project.  Success!  And then I paper pieced the top part onto the rest of my balloon.  And I pop dotted the hot air balloon too.  You can see the shadow in the picture.

Thank you for stopping by today.  It's a sad day today in the US because of what happened in Boston.  My heart and prayers go out to those families and people.

Until next time my friends....have a good night.

Where to Now?

Hello Everybody!

I finally got some of Tim Holtz's Distress Paints, and they are super fun to play with!  I made this tag for the Challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show: Fly.

I used distress paints salty ocean and broken china for the background.  I stamped a script stamp using broken china distress ink and the birds (Tim H's) with dusty concord.  The hot air balloon is from Hampton Arts and the Timeless Travels is from Just Rite stamps (I think).  Those are Tim H's chit chat stickers too.  And a key.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...Up up and Away! :)

New Distress Paints

Hello Everybody!

This project made the Top 3 at Make My Monday! :)

I finally got some of Time Holtz's Distress Paints.  And hopefully I will have the metallics next week (EEK!).

I have a little story to tell but first let me take care of business.  I am submitting this chipboard page (or wall hanging) in the challenge at Make My Monday: Create Your Own Background.

So I was at my local scrapbook store (where I bought my paints) and the owner said do you play with chipboard?  And I kind of shrugged and said a little bit.  I have letters and shapes.  She hands me a piece of 6X6 chipboard to try the paints on.

At first I am thinking I should prime the chipboard with either white paint or gesso-both at the house and not with me.  But I started playing and putting the paint on my craft sheet and running the chipboard through-and then it muddied!  Thankfully there is the second side!  So I put a color or 2 on the chipboard and heat set it with the heat gun.  And that keeps it from turning brown!

So here is my chipboard "page."  I used Tim's tissue paper to make the ribbon.  The background is Distress Paint (barn door red, salty ocean, broken china, moss, mustard seed, and raspberry).  Also, I used Tim's new washi tape (also bought today yeehaw!) and stamps that were at the scrapbook store.  I added some gears and a clock.  I also added the little saying at the bottom.  I put salty ocean over the metal and wiped it off.  That is how the letters are blue instead of metal colored.  It really makes them pop. :)

Here is a close up.  I loved making this chipboard "page" that will go on my wall.  That's my son on a Harley at the Harley store at Downtown Disney.  Lots of fun!

Thanks for stopping by friends!  Until next time my friends...it's time for more distress paint journeys! :)

Family Lunch Scrapbook Page

Hello Everybody!

Today I was able to make a scrapbook page for the sketch at Sketches In Thyme #107.  I used papers from Echo Park and DCWV.  The tag was made using a punch, and I distressed it with distress ink.

Here is a close up of the papers and photo.  I used a Tim Holtz game piece and 13 to be like 2013.  I don't know if I will connect the 2 twenty years from now ;)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends have a good day! :)

Thinking of You

Hello Everybody!

I made a card for the challenge at Inkspirational.  This week it's colors:

Here's my card.  I really wanted to play and I kept trying to come up with something that I liked.  I had flowers out, and I embossed some yellow cardstock but I couldn't make sense of it.  So then I thought-what if I could make it a little grungy or steampunkish?  So I don't know if I succeeded in either of those categories but I know I had more fun using my Tim Holtz clock stamp and Tim Holtz stains than if I had used flowers.

The background is a dictionary page that I colored with worn lipstick stain.  The Admit One ticket is the slate color which is stormy skies stain.  It's one of Tim Holtz's embossing folders.  The sentiment is from T.H. Stamper Anonymous (an awesome set!) and then the hot air balloon is from Hampton Arts.  I also have a piece of Recollections washi tape (birds) across the middle.

I used Weathered Wood distress ink to help pop the ticket, and I used a little on the hot air balloon.

This challenge ends soon, but Wednesday there will be a new one! :)

Here is a close up.  I think I will be using the ticket embossing folder a few more times! :)

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...where would you like a hot air balloon to take you?  (besides the sky) ;)

Coffee and Beignets

Hello Everybody!

I finished this layout today for the weekly challenge at Let's Scrap.  About 3 years ago we took a trip to New Orleans.  It was lots of fun and one of the places we stopped at was Cafe du Monde.

I used a few different papers and some walnut distress ink.  I used printed tissue paper, Tim Holtz paper, DCWV, and Basic Grey.  Also, I used a Unity Stamp (on pg 2) and some Tim Holtz tissue tape and tag.

Because I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink and some of his paper I am also going to submit this to Simon Says Stamp and Show.  This week Anything Goes! And there is still time to play!

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends....mmmm beignets! :)

Easter Layout

Hello Everybody!

This is a layout I made for the weekly challenge at Let's Scrap.  I love this layout becuase 1. it's very recent (which doesn't normally happen in my world!), 2. lot's of pictures, 3. I got to use up stuff I have had for awhile.  That I think might be the most exciting (kinda sad huh?) LOL.

The flowers on the side are from Fancy Pants-they are the felt ones that I just had to have back in the day.  Do you have any of these?  The egg paper is from Paper Pizzazz.  The pink flowers are from a ribbon I bought a Michael's a little while back.  The rick rac is from of those $1 spools (or they used to be $1).  The Easter drawings and journal cards are from We R Memory Keepers and I think those are pretty new, like I bought them last year.  I used my Cricut for the title.  And the 2013 are some green glitter stickers.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...time to craft some more! :)

Water Stamping

Hello Everybody!

There's a new challenge at Technique Time Tuesday and I'm hosting it!  I picked out water stamping because it seems like a way to stretch you stamps.  You can find the instructions and the rest of the DT's projects here.

Here's my card.  I used the water stamping for my flowers.

Here you can see the stamp that I used.  I used Tim Holtz's Distress Inks for my flowers.  I die cut them first.  This is the Tim Holtz tattered flowers die.  Then I put the Dusty Concord on the flower using an applicator.  I dipped the stamp in the "water pad" and stamped my flower.  I did use a heat gun to speed up the drying.
Don't you just love the result?

Here are all of the flowers that I made.  I used a numbers stamp on the red flower.  On the green flower I applied Mustard Seed DI first and heat set it.  Then I put Broken China over it so these two colors made this pretty green.  I wanted to see if yellow would show through instead of white (the cardstock).  I am not really sure but this flower turned out great.

Here is a close up of my flowers put together.  The pink flower is using a distress stain instead.  I was experimenting.  It worked a little bit.

Thank you for stopping by.  There is an exciting change with Technique Time Tuesday.  Usually the winner gets digital sentiments as the prize.  Starting this month we are going to give away different prizes.  Here is this month's prize:

A 6x6 paper pack from Pink Paislee (London Market), A Distress Ink-Worn Lipstick, and a Wood-Mounted Thank you Stamp.  How exciting!  We can't wait to see your creations!

Until next time my friends, what stamps will you be using?
