Happy Witch Card

Hello Everybody!

I wanted to share this card with you.  It has lots of glittery goodness.  Also, I was crazy and made my own chevrons out of red-line tape!

I am linking this card to the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp and Show: For the Love of Sparkle

City Crafter Challenge Blog: Week 128 An Early Boo

The sweet witch is from Sparkle N Sprinkle's new digital line from Michelle Perkett.  You can find this Candy Corn Witch here.

Here is the inside.  I used the sentiment that came with the with and used distress stain to color the paper.  I printed the image a 2nd time to get the broom.

Here's how I made the chevrons.  I cut out 1 inch pieces from 1 inch wide red-line tape.

Creating Keepsakes magazine had featured making your own chevrons out of paper.  I thought how cool would it be to do it out of sticky tape and pour glitter on them?!?! Not that cool really LOL!

The tape is quite sticky.  Here is one row of tape glittered.  Now I start the 2nd row.

I mounted it on black cardstock.  It seemed to get lost on the paper I had chosen.

I should have stopped glittering there.  But no, I had to do her dress too.  My chevrons ended up not perfect-to me I would describe them as whimsical.  But it fun to try something new!

Other Supplies:
My Mind's Eye paper
Copic Markers
Martha Stewart and Sparkle N Sprinkle glitter
Ranger Stickles
Gold Embossing Powder (broom)
Pop Dots

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...make it shine! :)

Happy Birthday To Lessology!

Hello Everybody!

I am super excited about this project I made for the challenge at Lessology! They turn 1 this month! Yay! Also, this is the very first challenge blog I participated in. A whole new world!

Speaking of challenges, I am entering the gift bag into the following:

Lessology #18: It's a Wrap!

Recycle, Re-Purpose & Reuse: Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog: Anything Goes

Anyways let me show you the gift bag I made out of plastic bags.  This first picture is the gift bag with a tag made out of cardboard from a box.  And it's "dressed up" with the tissue paper.

Here's the bag not "dressed up."  It's made out of plastic grocery bags and Modge Podge.  Scroll down, and I'll show you what I did! :)

I used white plastic grocery bags.

I colored them using Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks.  I used brights red, yellow, and blue.  I used the felt applicator to paint the bags (back of the bags actually, the front has the store name).

I cut strips out of the bag.  Initially, I wanted to weave it.  But that isn't as easy as it sounds.  So I had to go plan B.  I blew up a balloon and in a paper mache fashion glued the plastic strips to the balloon.  I probably did 4 or 5 layers.  Then I hemmed the top on my sewing machine.

I took the back of 3 bags and rolled each one.  Then I painted each one red, yellow, or blue and braided them.  I did this for each handle.

Here they are before I braided them.

My son held one end while I braided each handle. :) (hence the playdoh in the background)

And that's my repurposed plastic bag-gift bag :)  Until next time my friends...it's party time! :)

First Day of School Page

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I am sharing with you a scrapbook page for 2 challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes (Woo! Hoo!)

And Another Freakin' Scrappy Challenge: sketch

This is my first time playing at Another Freakin' Scrappy Challenge.  How I didn't play before-I don't know!  I'm trying to scrap a certain amount of pages before the month is over.  I'll let you know how that goes when we get to October!

This page is about my son going to his first day of school.  He's 2 so it's just a couple of days a week and for a few hours.  He likes it.  They do art projects, and he gets to play with other kids.

Here is the journaling up close.  I had to put a little red school house on here!  Of course as I look at this, I realize that there isn't a date.  Ah!  But it's ok, there are more pictures of this event.  I will include the date on one of those pages.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...keep those pencils sharpened!

Tidbit Tuesday-Boo for You! :)

Hello Everybody!

Happy Tuesday!  I just finished a card for 2 challenges:

The sketch card challenge at Let's Scrap:

Here's my card:

Supplies: paper-My Mind's Eye, Cat's Eye for the black ink around the edges, DCWV letters, ghost stickers-Stickabilities

Today's tidbit is that if you have a sticker that is sort of sheer (like my ghosts), put the sticker on a white piece of paper and fussy cut it out.  That way your sticker looks like it does on the sticker sheet.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have a bootiful day! :)

Mummy Halloween Card

Hello Everybody!

Hope y'all had a good weekend.  I did. :)  I helped move a friend into her apartment-but no heavy lifting-just emptying boxes and putting stuff away.

This evening a made a card for the following challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches-using this sketch:

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog: Embossing-heat and/or dry-the mummy is heat embossed, background is dry embossed.

Here's my card.  I wanted to make a birthday card for my sister, but my creativity was screaming Halloween!  Ok maybe not screaming but talking very loudly! ;)

Here's a closeup of the mummy that is embossed with White Embossing powder (Snow by Recollections).  The mummy is from the Michael's $1 bin-Score!  And the pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye.  The black cardstock is embossed with a Tim Holtz texture fade.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-have a great week! :)

A Scrapbook Page

Hello Everybody!

Last night I finished a 2 page layout for the weekly challenge at Let's Scrap.  I was almost up to the cut-off but I made it!  There is a card challenge going on now-so after here go have a look! :)

Here's my layout:

Taking pictures of scrapbook layouts is quite a challenge for me.  I thought I had figured it out.  I would take a picture of each page and then put them together in Photoshop-which is what I did here.  But what I have found is that the lighting seems to change and then the pages don't match, and then they bend a little so I try to take the picture while the page is flat.  I still don't have them quite right :(

So if you have suggestions-please let me know! :)

Now the papers from this layout are from an Advantus company call Magic Scraps that doesn't exist now.  I have 3 or 4 sets from them because of a CKU I attended way back in the day in Atlanta.

Here are some of the matching embellishments that I used on my layout.

All of the words are rub-ons except the date on the flair (or square button)-those are stickers.  The moustaches are from MAMBI.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends-Happy Hump Day! :)

Tidbit Tuesday-Go Round

Hello Everybody!

Today's Tidbit Tuesday is about going outside the square box--into a circle one!

I made this wreath for football season.  We like to have a decoration on our front door and didn't have anything going from 4th of July to Halloween.  Feast your eyes...

So as I was getting the photos ready for this post, I realized that it fits the challenge over at The Game: Round.  Yippee!  I'm excited.  There's still plenty of time, so when you're done here go check out the challenge.  :)

I am also linking this to the Anything Goes Challenge at Unique Crafters Challenge.  There is still plenty of time to play at this challenge too! :)

So here are some of the details on my wreath.

This is a smooth wreath that I bought from Michael's.  I covered it in Gesso and then painted it with a glossy black acrylic paint.

I used my Making Memories Slice Machine to make the letters.  Then I ran each letter through my Xron machine (the 5 inch one) using the laminate/permanent adhesive cartridge.  I put toothpicks on the bottoms of the letters and used Scotch tape to make sure the stayed on the letters.  Then I pushed them through the styrofoam wreath.

The football is from Party City.  I used 2 strands of embroidery floss to go through the football to attach it to the wreath.  Also, I used embroidery floss to hang the wreath.

Here's another close up.  I don't make a lot of wreaths so I am pretty excited about this one.  My husband likes it too!

Until next time my friends...get out the chips and dip-It's football season!

Musical Happy Birthday

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I am submitting a card for the monthly challenge over at Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Here is this month's sketch:

Here is my card.  I made the big glittery treble clef using Sparkle N Sprinkle glue and glitter.  You make a design on acetate, sprinkle glitter and wait for it to dry.  It's usually a couple of days so patience is a virtue.  But it is so fun!  Then I glue it to the paper.  The paper is new paper (for me anyways) from Recollections.  The sentiment is a sticker for Starform.  The background music paper and notes are from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Stamp Set 175 Music.  I used distress inks to stamp the music paper and to highlight the sentiment.

When the shape has dried, you pull it off of the acetate.  Here is my treble clef before I glued it to my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have a musical day!

Cute TV Card

Hello Everybody!

I am finishing this card just in time for the challenge at Paper Smooches: Designers Draft Challenge.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my card.  I just had to use this cute TV from the Paper Smooches set Boob Tubes.  The sentiment comes from there, also.

I used Stickles for the center of the TV and Want2Scrap pearls for the knobs and antenna.

Other Materials:
Paper: Bazzill, DCWV
Embossing Powders: Recollections-Snow and Sparkle N Sprinkle Mediterranean Blue
Blue Rhinestones

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Until next time my friends...have a great week! :)

Pirate's Birthday

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I made a card for a little guy turning 2 tomorrow.  He's having a pirate themed birthday party so I thought this would be perfect!

I am submitting this card to a new challenge blog called Cut it Up.  The challenge is: Anything Goes.  You just need a die cut on your project-so go check it out.  There's still time to play! :)

This lil' pirate is from the Cricut Cartridge B is for Boy.

These are Scenic Route letters on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends....the pirate's life's for me! (not really but it just seemed like the right thing to say at the time) ;)

Moustabulous!

Hello Everybody!

A few months ago we had a birthday party for my husband.  We did a moustache theme.  It was so much fun!  A friend of mine even came over to help me get everything ready!  So that's what this scrapbook layout is about.

It is based on this week's sketch:

I used mist and a hexagon mask to do the background.  The hexagon mask is actually from where we punched out pieces to a game.  My husband starting giving me the leftover chipboard from where pieces would be punched out-and I am so glad I didn't through them away!

The big moustache is from the party.  I got the image for Free Vintage Digital Stamps (that site is AWESOME by the way!)  I enlarged to the image and made it different colors in Photoshop and then I made a banner out of them.  You can see this on the first page.

I used printed tissue paper for the center circle.  I had a scalloped circle that I used to trace and cut out the tissue paper.  The letters for the title are from the Girl's Paperie (which I think is no longer in business).  I used a couple of rub-ons and circle stickers.  The moustache paper is from Echo Park.

Did you know that you can spell moustache or mustache?  Interesting! Until next time my friends...stay Moustabulous! :)

Texture Tidbit Tuesday

Hello Everybody!

I had to share this with everybody-Martha Stewart White Texture effect.  I was in Michael's last week and found myself in the stenciling section.  You never know when there will be cool stuff in a different department!

If it's not the scrapbooking department then I feel like I am in a foreign land.  Jewelry, knitting-I just don't know.  The same is true for the paint department.  But as I look around blogland, I see folks using fiber stuff and all sorts of things to add interest to scrapbook pages and cards-and I want to do that too!  So unfortunately, this stuff was too new for someone to explain it to me.  So I went out on a limb and bought some.

Here's a little video here.  It shows some of the other products in the line.

And I love it!  It is what it says.  It's white texture.  Just scoop and smooth.  I was making a card and tried to use a paper Tim Holtz gear as a mask-sort of and this part turned out pretty cool.  (The bottom did not so my card went a different direction.)

So I smoothed out the texture that I used on the gear and let it dry.  I added some paint and the gear looks rusted.  How cool is that!  There's my gear.  I don't know what else I can use it on but I'm very excited.

If you have suggestions-just let me know!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time my friends--Texture! :)

Read All About It!

Hello Everybody!

Read all about it is the challenge going on at Simon Says Stamp and Show.  There's only an hour or so left to play but there is plenty of inspiration!

I did the blog hop over there and had so many ideas, I didn't know where to start!

So here is my card using dictionary paper...

Here is a close up of the bottom.  The gear is a Tim Holtz/Sizzix die cut.  Here's my favorite part-I covered it with Martha Stewart texture (it comes in a container that says that).  After it dried I painted gold and pitch black Tim Holtz/Ranger dabber on it.  I love this gear! :)

I used a green spray from October Afternoon on the dictionary page and then distressed it.  The stamp is from Hampton Arts.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz and so is the lock.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.  The key is usually quite silver, so I dulled it with Slate Alcohol Ink.

I used a Prima rub-on on the left side, and the birds stamp from Tim Holtz. :)

I love how this card turned out-I hope you do too!  Until next time my friends...dream big! :)

Happy Grandparents Day!

Hello Everybody!

Happy Grandparents Day!  I made this page for my husband's parents.  My MIL and I have a tradition of making pages for each other for different holidays.  This year I decided to make that the title of the page.

I am submitting this page to the AWESOME challenge going on at Unique Crafters Anything Goes Challenge right now!  There are 20 different categories so go check it out!

This is a Tim Holtz coin that I put snow cap and orange alcohol ink on.  I love how it looks rusted. The string is from Karen Foster a looonnnggg time ago called paper floss.  I curled it around a paintbrush and it kept some of its shape-yay!

Other products I used:

Paper-Daisy D, Echo Park (journal tag), Jillibean Soup, (the others were scraps)
Letters-Various sets (I was trying to use up some letters.)
Stickers-Me and My Big Ideas, Hobby Lobby hearts
Rub-ons-Heidi Grace, Creative Impressions
Bingo Card-K&Company

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...love on your grandparents! :)

Autumn Card

Hello Everybody!

I made a card for a friend of ours tonight using the challenge over at The Paper Players-Challenge #111 Trees or Leaves.

I used the tree stamp from Gel a tins Sheltering Tree stamps collection.  I used glue for the top of the tree and sprinkled Martha Stewart glitter.  Last year I had gotten a pack of 6 glitters on sale because they were autumn glitters.  I mixed a few together on the tree.  I also made a leaf pile at the bottom of the tree.

Here is a closer look.  I used a lacey circles Spellbinders (my first Spellbinders and I LOVE it!).  The paper lace is from K&Company.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz's Chit Chat word stickers. Background paper is Making Memories and I used distress inks on the sides, and I used it on the word stickers.

Thank you for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...sprinkle love :)

Flutter Hi!

Hello Everybody!

This is my 2nd post of the day.  I'm on fire!

I hopped over Simon Says Stamp and Show.  Awesome projects.  Then I saw that Simon Says Stamp is also doing a hop with Washi Tape.  Well I couldn't hop any longer-I had to make a card!  And I must use Washi Tape!

Sooo after I finished my pictures I go to look at their website again and realize that Washi Tape was for the blog hop-not this week's challenge.  LOL That's the way that goes.

Thankfully-I had design elements floating around in my head!  So I am submitting this card to the Moxie Fab World-Repetition.

Here's my card.  The butterflies are made out of-you guessed it-Washi Tape! :)

Here is my little collection of Washi Tape.  I alternated the blue tapes on white cardstock.  I used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch for the butterflies.

I sprayed the smaller white cardstock with Smooch Spritz.  It looks like orange but sprays like yellow.  That is another blog entry for another time ;)  Luckily, it works here.  The Hi is from rub-ons.  Then I put little pearls for the butterfly bodies and moved the wings to make them look 3-D.

I used a circle punch for the corner.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...have a good day! :)
