Father's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

Simon Says Stamp and Challenge is having a DT call-so if you are interested go check it out!  You can go here for the information.

Simon Says Stamp and Challenge's current challenge is Father's Day/Special Male.  This is a great challenge because Dad's Day is quickly approaching and I don't know about you--but I have a few cards to make and a few gifts to buy!

Here is my card:

All of the papers are from DCWV The Guy Stack.  Even the sentiment is from that Stack.  The screws are brads from Michaels.  There are beige rub-ons under the sentiment, and they are from Prima (circles and stars).  And that awesome moustache is from Mambi.

Until next time my friends...don't forget about Dad!

Tidbit Tuesday

Hello Everybody!

Sorry this is a little late.  Sometimes I have all of these ideas to write up for Tuesday-then Monday night comes and all of my ideas are hiding ;)  So today I had to run some errands and stopped off at Michaels.

Woo Hoo!  So glad that I did.  They were having a sale (and still are until the end of the week I'm sure) on Tim Holtz stuff-30% off.  No, I didn't go crazy.  They had Distress crackle paint--one in the pack being rock candy-or clear I think.  And then I got the word stickers.  Could I have bought more?  Yes but I did just buy a whole bunch of stuff a couple of weekends so I need to behave a little bit.  Plus there is that thing where you have to have money to eat.  ;)

I also bought these fabulous moustache stickers.

So until next time my friends...let's go shopping-for scrapbook stuff! :)

Family Scrapbook Page

Hello Everybody!

International Scrapbook Month is still going on at Let's Scrap.  There are still so many challenges to play!  Tonight I finished a page for Challenge #2 where the challenge is to try a different scrapping style.  I chose to go Shabby Chic.  My style doesn't normally lean in this direction.  I think I'm more Classic or Cutesy.

So here is my page:

At Let's Scrap you must use a Let's Scrap layout (which I love!).  So here's my sketch-created by Cheri O'Neill for Sept, 9, 2009.  Scroll down, and I'll show you some highlights!

I used these for the circle.  I find they work best with a small glue dot.  I thought I was going to use the ones with print on them and then I changed my mind--for the better :)

Here is the gold candi on the paper.  The Candis are like paper versions of brads and no brad tails.  I got them from the Scrapbook Expo.

I have had this bundle of rhododendrons forever.  I have a pair of wire cutters that I used to cut some of the plastic center off and then I used a bigger glue dot to adhere the flowers to the page.  I used glue dots to glue the candis to the centers.

All of the pearls are from Want2Scrap.

I used Wow Embossing powder for Family.  Wow is right.  It's so thick!  Can't wait to use it some more.  The embossing powder and pearls are both from the Expo.  Yay-I'm using new stuff :)  Oh and this square that Family is stamped on is also from there.  I got it in a pack of die-cuts from The Girls' Paperie.  I distressed this square using Blue Jeans and Walnut Ink from Rangers/Tim Holtz's Distress Inks.

The blue pattern paper is Anne Griffin and the vintage flower paper is from K&C company.  The background paper-I'll be honest-I have no idea.  I bought an assorted pack of paper a couple of years ago from the Scrapbook Expo and threw away the label.  Who knew I would need that info for my blog?  ;)  If you know what brand it is let me know!  Until next time my friends...what's your Scrapbook style?

Fly Tag

Hello Everybody!

Tonight I finished a cool tag for the challenge at Studio L3.  It's from A Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2 by Tim Holtz.  This technique is on page 38.

This week's sponsor is Frilly and Funkie.  They are giving a $25 gift certificate to their store.  If you haven't checked them out--go!  They have challenges, tutorials, and great inspiration on their blog!  And their store is packed full of goodies-including Tim Holtz stuff! :)

So here is my tag.  At first I wasn't really excited about this technique.  I kept looking at Tim's directions and his finished tag and didn't know how I was going to get anything close to a good turnout.  But I went ahead, and I love how it turned out!  Yay for Studio L3 for encouraging the techniques!

Until next time my friends...don't be shy to try a new technique!

Inside the Scrapbook Expo

Hello Everybody!

I had so much fun at the Expo on Saturday.  They didn't have as much Tim Hotlz stuff as the did last year--but that didn't stop me from spending all of my money!  I got a lot of new stuff and have been trying to play with it all!

I took 2 classes.  One was a resist class.  I am sure ya'll we be seeing these techniques in some future projects!

One of my favorite stamp companies-Sparkle N Sprinkle-were there.  I could look at there samples all day long!  I bought 2 stamp sets and have already used one! :)

This was from Melissa Francis.  She had some very pretty shabby shic stuff going on.  I bought the inside frame and was inspired by this project.  Can't wait to see what I make!

I bought the kit to make these dome cards with 3-D shiny flowers.  Too cool!  I also bought a set of 3 butterfly dies so I can't wait to share those with you too!

I saw and got these at the Rubbercafe booth.  They are paper but look like brads.  Brilliant!  I can't wait to use these!

Free tote bag at the Tall Mouse booth with a $20 purchase.  Done when I saw the charms, rhinestone ribbon, and textured backgrounds pieces.  What's rhinestone ribbon...go to the website.  I will talk feature it once I can make a project with it-LOL and I don't know how long that will take!

Here's some of my stuff taken out of the bags.  I got some bling for 99 cents-awesome!  I didn't buy any paper except for a paper pack of Making Memories that was $1.  I tried not to load up on paper because I do have a lot, and I succeeded! Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time my friends...time to get scrappin'!

Summer Beach Summer Sun Scrapbook Pages

Hello Everybody!

I made this layout for the Let's Scrap International Scrapbook Challenge #1.  It's being sponsored by Fancy Pants, and I thought it was only best that I used some Fancy Pants product (but you don't have to and there is still plenty of time to play!)

Here's the sketch:

Here's my interpretation:

I used to Stickles to outline the box, stars and sun.  The background paper is from Coredinations-the Tim Holtz collection.

The shell and fish are rub-ons from this Fancy Pants collection Beach Bum which came out last year.  I have been wanting to use these papers and scrap the beach so this was a perfect challenge!

There is a dolphin that is from Recollections-they are plastic glittery pieces and a whole lot of fun!

This is a chipboard heart from Maya Road.  On it is this sandy texture from a company called Mudd Puddles.  It s so awesome--it really does look like sand.  There are a few different sands, and I have the Bahamas one.

Here's another glittery plastic piece--but this one's a little crabby ;)

Until next time my friends...see you at the beach!

USA Card

Hello Everybody!

I am back from the Scrapbook Expo and playing with my new stuff! :)  You can Like me on Facebook and get a sneak peak for some of my cool new goodies.

My first stop was at the Sparkle N Sprinkle booth.  I got to meet Margaret the owner--how cool!  So I bought two stamp sets-one Fourth of July and the other music (notes, guitars, and an old record player).

This is the monthly sketch on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog--SNSSC07.  I am also submitting my card to Simon Says Stamp and Show--Anything Goes!

Here is my card using Doodlebug paper, Martha Stewart Twine, Tear-ific paper (an adhesive paper I used over blue cardstock and put glitter on), SNS Stamp Set 433 Patriotic Icons, and Brick Red Distress ink for the Circles.

The definition and USA are from the stamp set.  I really like how it turned out and I am glad that I have 1 card ready to go for 4th of July! :)  Until next time my friends....stay glittery!

Anniversary Trip Scrapbook Layout

Hello Everybody!

I am soooo excited!  Tomorrow is the Scrapbook Expo, and I am going!  I am going to take two classes, do a few make and takes, and lots of shopping! :)  If you haven't already, you can find me on facebook (I Like to Cut and Paste).  I will be posting a few pictures tomorrow and then probably post more pictures on here next week.  So be sure to stop back by!

Sorry that I am posting my Friday project a little late.  But better late than never!  Over at Let's Scrap it's International Scrapbook Month.  If you haven't been-go!  There are so many fun challenges going on right now!

This particular challenge closed last night but there is a new one today.  This is for Challenge 135 and it had to be based on this sketch and represent 4 of something.  This year Let's Scrap is 4 years old!

So here is my interpretation of the sketch.  My husband, son and I had recently taken a weekend trip to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary.  So we celebrated our 4th year by doing 4 big things-going to the beach, aquarium, zoo, and Dinosaur World.

Here is a close up of the tags.  The 4 year is on a Tim Holtz tag, the 4 is a rub-on from 7 gypsies and the little red letters are from Cosmos Cricket.  Trip is spelled using American Crafts letters.  I used red cardstock to go with the middle paper which is from K&Company.

These rub-ons are from Fancy Pants.

The mat and journal paper is Tim Holtz paper.  And if you look close you might see brown spots on the red cardstock.  I thought it was kind of boring so I added spots with my Close to My Heart stamp.

Here's a close up of the 2nd page.

I know I didn't name everything on these pages so if you have a question let me know.  Until next time my friends....go celebrate! :)

Tidbit Tuesday-Cards from Others

Hello Everybody!

I hope that everyone had a great Mom's Day!  Today I am going to share the card my Mom-in-Law gave me for Mother's Day.  I wanted to share it because it is absolutely beautiful.  She is a cardmaker and scrapbooker also, and I love getting these types of gifts.  So here is her card:

And here is the inside.  This cameo is just stunning!

So did you get a hand made card this Mom's Day?  If you did and you put it on your blog, leave me the link.  I'll come visit.  It's nice to see the different kinds of cards everyone makes.  :)  Until next time my friends...remember to send out your cards-you will make someone's day! :)

Mom's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

Yesterday afternoon I made a card on the fly and wanted to share it with you all today.  I think it came out really good.  I'm sorry my pictures aren't better, but I made it in a hurry.

I am linking this up to Simon Says Stamp and Show: Anything Goes and For Fun Challenges: My Favorite Girl Challenge.

I used a dictionary page as the background.  It was M and on Mother.  :)  I distressed it with some Dusty Concord and Blue Jeans Distress Inks. I put some Recollections tape down the middle.  The bird is Recollections and I distressed it a little with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The flowers are some old Prima flowers-but I love them.  They are all satin and nice to touch!  I put a piece of lace and hooked a gem and the Wonderful coin from Tim Hotlz's collection.

The MOM is spelled out using letter beads.

I loved how this card turned out.  Maybe I should do more things on the fly ;)  Until next time my friends...have a good evening!

This week the challenge technique is on page 43.  Here is my tag:

Here's a close up.  That's a little charm in the right hand corner, Martha Stewart twine and Recollections notes tape.  The stickers are from Authentique (yellow letters).

This is one of the stamps of used.

These are from Close to My Heart and I love them.  I used these stamps too.  Until next time my friends...good night :)

Mom's Day Card

Hello Everybody!

My Mojo is flowing!  Not only did I just finish a 2 page layout, but I made a card tonight as well.  Yay!  So this card was created for the challenge at For Fun Challenges.  This week's challenge is to use the colors green, blue, and cream.

So let me show you my card and then I can talk about it a little better :)

The main part of the card was dipped in water and alcohol inks.  For more details you can go here. The centers of my flowers were made with this punch.  If you have the little machine for making your own brads, you may have a few of these.  They make great flowers! :)

Here is what the dictionary page looked like after I used the punch.

The out flower is from Kaiser.  I used Shabby Shutters and Broken China Distress Inks and a little water on the Kaiser flowers and dictionary centers (no water on the centers).

Here is a close up.  I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch for some other papers that I had "dyed" with the alcohol inks.  Then I outlined them in green Stickles.  The top butterfly is popped up.  I used a thank you stamp for the middle on the base of the card.  I used Stormy Blue Distress ink and colored the stamp partially.  Then I put the cream colored decorative tape on the card.  That's from We R Memory Makers.

Mom is made from a Cuttlebug Alphabet collection.  I tried to make all 3 letters out of foil but that didn't work.  Just the O did which is ok.  I used Meadow (green) and Sailboat Blue Alcohol Inks to color them.  The M's are out of regular cardstock so it was cool to see the alcohol inks create such a rich color.  Lastly, the gold hearts are from Prima.

Here's my card again.  Until next time my friends...Mom's Day is this Sunday! :)

Magic Kingdom Layout

Hello Everybody!

I am so excited to share with you my scrapbook layout for the this week's challenge at Let's Scrap.

Here is the sketch:

I don't know what I would do without these great sketches.  Probably talk about scrapping than actually getting something done!  Plus they have fabulous prizes!  This weeks Scrap It Girl is the sponsor.

So here is my take on the sketch.

This is the first page.  I used a library card for the journaling.  And the trim below the title block are the mini fuzzy balls which I bought at Joann's.  The castle in the title block is a metal castle that I bought online with some eyelets.  I used a heart brad to attach it to my page.

Most of the stickers are EK Success Disney stickers.  The pattern paper (blue background and block of characters) is from Sandylion.

Here is the 2nd page.  I am giving this layout to my mom-in-law for Mom's Day.  We exchange pages over some of the major holidays.  So I look forward to see what she scrapped for me :)

Until next time my friends...enjoy the magic!
